Effective Cooling for Mining Farms: Key Aspects
-
The Problem of Equipment Overheating
In mining farms, equipment generates a significant amount of heat. Without effective cooling, the temperature in the rooms can reach critical levels, leading to equipment failure. To prevent overheating, high-quality industrial cooling is required. -
Evaporative Cooling as an Economical Method
One of the most efficient and economical methods is evaporative cooling. The system works by absorbing heat from evaporating water, which lowers the air temperature. Energy consumption is minimal, as power is only needed to operate the pump. -
Evaporative Cooling Panels
The core components of the system are panels made from cellulose and impregnated with polymer resins. These panels have a large moisture-absorbing surface area, which allows for effective cooling by evaporating water. -
Technical Characteristics and Installation
The cooling system is easy to install. The panels are connected together, and the plumbing system with a pump ensures water circulation. It is important to correctly calculate the performance of the panels and fans for optimal system operation. -
Humidity Control
Evaporative cooling increases the air humidity, which may affect equipment performance. It is necessary to control humidity and maintain proper ventilation to prevent any negative effects. -
Conclusion
Using evaporative cooling in combination with forced ventilation minimizes repair costs and ensures stable operation of mining farms, extending the lifespan of graphics cards and servers. -
Laboratory Measurements for Comparing Key Parameters
For the example, we have selected a standard building with Antminer S19 Pro 100TH miners. The setup consists of 106 miners, all located in one area on 12 shelves, with 9 miners on each shelf. The outside temperature is 35°C with a humidity of 35%, during the daytime in West Texas.
This scenario allows for evaluating the cooling efficiency and other key parameters for the specified configuration, which will help in comparing different cooling systems under realistic environmental conditions.
